I Made My Own BDSM Flogger And Whipped The Sh*t Out Of My Husband

If you have a passion for both BDSM and arts & crafts, then it turns out you are not alone! Kink Craft is a British company that specializes in DIY BDSM gear. After scouring the Internet for information about making budget-friendly toys, the owners realized there was nothing of quality out there. Instead of figuring it out and keeping it for themselves, they decided to spread their knowledge with the world!

There are three different ways to enjoy the wonderful products Kink Craft has to offer. The most popular way is to order the complete kit, which includes all the necessary materials and a free instructional video. You can also purchase only the instructional video and provide your own materials (they list clearly what you need). The easiest, but least-fun way is by buying ready-made items.

I opted for the Paracord Mini Flogger kit. For those who do not know, a flogger is a whip-type item that is made up of a handle and several straps. It can be used to consensually whip someone or caress them for an alternate sensation.

The Basics

The mini flogger kit comes with a black paracord, a second paracord of your color-choice, a steel o-ring and electrical tape. You need to bring your own scissors and measuring tape. The measuring tape needs to be long enough to easily measure 110 inches. The scissors need to be strong enough to cut paracord.

I feel like this is a no-brainer, except that our scissors did not provide a graceful cut. The tape measure and scissors are necessary to cut your own paracord. The black cord is easy enough to cut, as you just find the middle and snip it. The colorful cord needs to be measured and split between 110 inches and 128 inches. My only wish is that they had been pre-cut. This is basically the only flaw from the whole kit.

The Videos

The videos are very easy to access. Once your kit arrives in the mail, you are provided with a code for the free video. You need to sign up on the website, order the respective video and enter the code. The video is then added to your account for life, so you can make a million floggers if you choose.

The video itself is incredibly clear throughout the entire process. It is really nice having both visual and audio guidance for the first time. The kit says it takes 20 to 30 minutes to make. For me, it took 60 minutes, but that says more about my skills than the videos.

Each video is perfectly timed into different stages so you know exactly what is expected in each video. The only thing that could make them better is having a closed captioning for those who are hard of hearing.

The Process

Making the mini flogger was actually a lot of fun! It was like doing arts and crafts but the sexy version. It is definitely a one-person job but it was fun to see my boyfriend’s reaction as the materials gradually became more and more flogger-like.

The instructions are easy to follow, the material is easy to work with, and the result is beautiful! It is really cool to hold a kinky toy in your hand that you created from scratch. Even if you aren’t craft-inclined, you can easily get through the course.

The Flogger in Use

This little DIY flogger really packs a sting! The design on the handle allows for a solid grip and the knots at the end of the paracord provide a stinging sensation with every whip. Without the little knots at the end, it wouldn’t feel like anything, but the knots are the perfect size to provide a sharp but pleasant sensation.

The number of paracord arms is also important — both for ease of wielding the flogger and also for receiving the flogging. The Kink Craft mini flogger seems to have just the right number to spread the stings over an appropriate area of skin.

Of course, like any BDSM item, you can use it lightly or more intensely. As it is our first flogger, we use it fairly lightly. I actually find this to be the perfect introduction to flogging because you know exactly how it was made. You’re aware of the materials and the mechanics behind it, so it is overall less intimidating to use.

Using it during one of our sessions really gets us going. We’re really big on spanking each other, and we do own paddles for this purpose. However, the flogger seems to be the best for warming up. Like any toy designed for sensation play, you can build up power. We never jump right in to the highest setting; there is always a prolonged session of warming up the skin, particularly on our butts or upper thighs.

I can trail the tips of the arms all over his body and watch him squirm in anticipation. Then, just when he starts to wiggle out of my control, I can remind him who is in charge by giving him little stings of pleasure. A few repetitions of this pattern will throw him over the edge. Soft, gentle touches alternating with harder stinging sensations.

When my partner uses it on my body, it drives me insane. Sliding the flogger around my skin gives me the ultimate goosebumps. The stinging whip brings me quickly back to reality and then the gentle strokes make me writhe with pleasure. Sex doesn’t just mean penetration. For us, these intimate moments of sensation play are just as hot as anything else.

In Conclusion

I absolutely loved making my own Mini Flogger! There is something so totally unique about creating your own kinky toy and then sharing the experience together. This is a fun activity to do on your own or in a group activity like a bachelorette party (or alternative activity).

Imagine a room full of people making BDSM toys instead of listening to a sex toy sales rep? Definitely a unique twist! We highly recommend buying the Kink Craft kit so you can have the pleasure of creating a toy with your hands and then getting consensually rough with your partner.

Even if you aren’t super into BDSM, just imagine how cool this would look in your room. When people come over you can proudly point to it and say, “Oh my flogger? I just threw it together last weekend”.
