Is there anything that the creative inventors of Oreo can't do?
S'mores Oreos, Red Velvet Cake Oreos, Banana Split Oreos, Birthday Cake Oreos, Cookie Dough Oreo. Even this giant Oreo Cookie cake! And the list just goes on and on. Some are awful (like the banana split flavor... you knew that was never going to work) and some are heavenly (red velvet is fabulous in ANY form).
Well, as lovers of all things yummy and unique, here's another Oreo product to add to the list. Last year, creme-filled Oreo churros became available in food stores.
You can all cheer with joy or scream in horror.
Regular churros are made from dough rolled in a heap of sugar and cinnamon mixture. Oreo churros are a little different — pieces of Oreo cookie dough are filled with the signature Oreo creme that everyone loves. They are also available at some fast food restaurants and convenience stores, either with an Oreo cookie creme dip, covered in sugar, or with ice cream.
In a report in TIME Magazine, vice president of the leading churro maker, J&J Snack Foods, said that the company is excited to partner with the makers of Oreos, and the fans of both "will not be disappointed in the latest snacking mash up."
Just take a look at these yummy-looking babies:
However, if you can't find them in your nearby grocery store, don't fret! Buzzfeed has provided us with a DIY recipe for Oreo churros that you can make at home. And they're super-easy to make. All you need is a food processor and pastry bag, water, butter, sugar and cinnamon, and of course, a box of Oreos.
It's a treat that any Oreo and churro fanatic will enjoy!
