Women currently crying over of their shitty, cheating ex-boyfriend, have no fear. There is a great white light at the end of the tunnel.

A recent study revealed that women who have been cheated on develop stronger relationships later in life, make better choices about their future and experience personal growth outside of their romantic partnerships.

Though the study didn't say this explicitly, we also know that these women also become total badasses.

"Our thesis is that the woman who 'loses' her mate to another woman will go through a period of post-relationship grief and betrayal," said Dr. Craig Morris, "but come out of the experience with higher mating intelligence that allows her to better detect cues in future mates that may indicate low mate value."

Creepy scientific terms about our love lives aside, the study also found that the other woman will not be so lucky. Cue the victory dance.

"The 'other woman', conversely, is now in a relationship with a partner who has a demonstrated history of deception and, likely, infidelity," he said. "Thus, in the long-term, she 'loses.'"

Experts suggest the best way for women to get through the period of betrayal is to learn more about the science behind these findings and look for other ways to remind themselves that they are not alone.
