Almost everyone in the LGBTQ+ community has felt it at some point. Bullied. Scared. Depressed.
LGBTQ+ teens and young adults are EIGHT TIMES more likely to commit suicide than their straight counterparts.
You may be in that dark place right now where everyone in your life seems like either a bully, clueless, or doesn't care about you. You feel alone, and you just want all of it to STOP. Every day leaves you bloody and dying.
You NEED to know: It gets better.
Yeah, I know, I'm full of crap. At least, that's what I would have said to myself if I had said that to myself, 7, no, even 3 years ago. I thought death was the only way to make the pain stop. Live in the closet, die in the closet. That's what I believed.
Then I decided to risk coming out, and I lived to say it was the best thing I could have ever done.
Things get better. Not always quickly, and not without a fight, but it will.
These people have lived through it, and want you to do the same.
The one in control of how you feel is YOU.
