It's a whole new frontier, people.

Abyss, a company known for creating sex dolls, is in early stages of developing a sex-bot. Because these sexy cyborgs are such early stages of development, there are no prototypes or details yet so um, use your imagination.

Matt McMullen, the owner of RealDoll (under Abyss), sat down with Vanity Fair and talked about his company's new venture. RealDoll offers life size dolls that are primarily used for sex. But the owner argues that they aren’t only for lonely people.

"Not all customers are painfully shy sad sacks," Mullen tells Vanity Fair. "There is no 'type' who buys the company's dolls and other silicone products. They include futurists, art collectors, truckdrivers, scientists, housewives, couples seeking to enhance their sex lives, lawyers, surgeons, a nursing association, a dental school, men with prostate cancer who can't get an erection but miss the cuddling, burn victims, and wounded vets."

What are his thoughts on sexy robots, exactly? Well, he's hot and cold on it.

"It's just too horribly complicated," he explains. "I just think the more moving parts you have with anything, a car or an airplane, the more problems you have, and if you can't send it back to the factory … shit, I couldn't even get a plumber for goddamn two weeks. Am I going to call the local RealDoll repairman?"

Ugh yeah. Good point — that is pretty awkward. However, the company’s owner is still looking forward to the new technology.

You might be really surprised that a company is thinking about this but others have predicted this day would come. According to Vanity Fair, last year Pew Research Center predicted that sexy robots would be available by 2025.

Looks like we're 10 years ahead!
