Disney is awesome, but the best lessons come from Pixar.
All the knowledge I needed in this world came from John Lasseter and the Pixar team. Just think: if he wouldn't have gotten fired from Disney while working on Brave Little Toaster, then Toy Story may have been a straight love story between Woody and Jessie (since that's all Disney cared about in the 90s). Now, we have almost four movies about Buzz Lightyear and Woody being best friends forever.
What I'm trying to say is that if you hate cartoon movies and Pixar, that's probably why you have no soul nor morals. It's about time you sat down and watched the movies that shaped childhood. There's so much more knowledge in cartoons than there is in regular movies.
Here's everything we learned about life, friendship and love from Pixar movies:
1. Just keep swimming!
Life can be challenging, and next time you're going through a hard time, just remember Dory's words of wisdom: "Just keep swimming."
2. Never touch the butt!
Because a scuba diver will catch you and put you in a tank.
3. Families are difficult, but important.
Even the craziest families are important. Even if you're not a team of superheroes, they are the ones you can lean on when you need it the most.
4. True friends last forever.
It doesn't matter when the acquaintances in your life come and go because the true friends will stay forever.
5. Moms are wise, even when they're annoying...
No one understands annoying moms more than teenage girls, but in the end they are just trying to do the best they can to make you the best woman you can be.
You only understand that when you hit your mid-20s. Call your mom and apologize for being an assh*le in high school.
6. ...Which is why you need to be careful what you wish for.
Sometimes a witch will give you a spell to change your mom, but don't test it out. She might turn into a bear.
7. You decide your fate.
Fate and destiny can only go so far. Merida taught us that it's up to you to change things — you just have to be brave enough to try.
8. Enjoy the ride life brings.
Life really is a highway. It will take you all over the place, and sometimes you just have to sit back and enjoy the ride.
9. Love is endless.
There's nothing more real than the true love that Carl and Ellie had, and it lasts forever.
10. But you shouldn't shut out the world.
You can't just shut down when your true love passes away. Life keeps going whether you're ready for it or not. It might take a friend to get you through it.
11. The most unlikely friendships are the best ones.
Sully and Mike Wazowski are the most unlikely of friends, but complete each other. You never know which friends are the best ones worth having if you don't give people a chance.
12. You can be whatever you want to be.
If you're a rat who wants to be a chef, do it. You can be whatever you want and you can't let people tell you otherwise. In fact, people putting you down should be a higher motivator to prove them wrong.
13. Don't judge someone by their size.
Even the littlest guys can be heroes.
14. Face-to-face communication is everything.
We can't end up useless like the humans in Wall-E, so stop talking online and go say hello to someone to their face.
15. Walking is also extremely important.
And walking would get humans out of those flying chairs, so we should probably start walking around and get that exercise going.
16. Be yourself.
If there's one theme every single Pixar film accomplishes, its overarching theme teaches you that the best thing to be is yourself. Stand up for what you believe in, whether it's love or friendship or family, and make things happen.
