Who knew so many celebs said "I Do" on this Hallmark holiday?
You might say that getting hitched on Valentines Day is cheesy, but don't tell these celebrities. From Salma Hayek to Adriana Lima, who both have daughters named Valentina (ironic, no?), see who tied the knot on the Hallmark holiday ... some might surprise you!
The good news? These celebrities (along with any of us pedestrian folk) who decide to get hitched on February 14 will always have the sweetest, heart-filled (and easy to remember) anniversary date where the whole world seemily celebrates your perfect union. The bad news? Reservations are gonna be tough. So plan any romantic dinner dates or trips in advance.
Adriana Lima & Marko Jaric
So, this is what happens when Cupid crosses an angel. Victoria's Secret stunner Adriana Lima—who remained a virgin until her wedding night—eloped with her basketball beau Marko Jaric on Valentines Day. "We are so excited about our future together," she said as a new bride. "And we are really looking forward to a big romantic wedding this summer with all of our friends and family." The couple later even named their daughter Valentina after their anniversary. Adorable, no?
Dennis Quaid & Meg Ryan
As one of Hollywood's longer standing celeb couples, Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid made it official when they married on Feb. 14, 1991. Their marriage lasted 10 years before it imploded in a scandalous love triangle involving the couple and Russell Crowe, plus rumors of infidelity on both sides. Yikes. Cupid misfire?
Keri Russell & Shane Deary
When Keri Russell found out she was pregnant back in 2007, the actress decided she wanted to marry longtime boyfriend Shane Deary before the baby's arrival. The two got hitched in a small ceremony surrounded by close family and friends on a snowy, winter night in New York City. "It was kind of a last-minute thing," she admitted. "It really was just, 'Oh, when is this private room in the restaurant available? Valentines Day? Oh, is that too cheesy? OK, well, let's do it anyway.'"
Prince & Mayte Garcia
His Highness Prince met Mayte Garcia when she was hired as a backup dancer for his Diamonds & Pearls tour. Allegedly, Garcia was Prince's muse for one of his albums and he believed they were soul mates who met in another life in ancient Egypt. They were wed on Valentines Day in 1996, but the high-profile marriage didn't last even three years. “I don’t really like to speak as to what happened in the marriage,” Mayte said in an interview with RealityAired.com. “I believe in soul mates, but I don’t think they have to be forever. I look at it as a beautiful time and a growing time.”
Salma Hayek & Francois-Henri Pinault
Up until she met her hubby, French businessman Francois-Henri Pinault, the sultry Latina actress apparently wasn't falling for the hype surrounding marriage. "I didn't think marriage worked," she confessed. "I thought everybody who was married was secretly miserable; that it was something they just put up with for their children." After a change of heart, the couple wed in Paris on Valentines Day 2009; perhaps a nod to their daughter? Like Adriana Lima, Hayek also has a daughter named Valentina, who was born in 2007 in Los Angeles.
