Elin Nordegren is handling her divorce from Tiger Woods beautifully, and not gonna lie -- we sort of love her now more than ever. Here's why!
Elin Nordegren is money-savvy: Don't get even, get $100 million.
The Swedish swimsuit model infamously split from Woods after it was discovered he'd been cheating with a slew of skanks, and despite having plenty of opportunities to trash the pro golfer in the press, Nordegren quietly moved on with her life -- and her $100 million divorce settlement. (All that cash may be part of why she's so cheery, but still -- adultery hurts no matter how much cash you have.)
She has a sense of humor -- and brains to spare.
In a recent graduation speech from Rollins College, Nordegren joked about her marriage and split, telling her class, "When I entered my student advisor office in the fall of 2005, I was 25 years old, I had just recently moved to America, I was married without children. Today, nine years later, I'm a proud American, and I have two beautiful children. But I'm no longer married." She added, "It was right after I had taken Communication and the Media [class], I was unexpectedly thrust into the media limelight. I probably should have taken more notes in that class!" Even though she was a woman of very few words before, don't you kind of adore her now?
Opening up after her commencement speech, she told PEOPLE of her split from Woods, "I felt safe with him. The word 'betrayed' isn't strong enough ... I have moved on, and I am in a good place," Nordegren told the mag about her new relationship with yet another millionaire, Chris Cline.
She's beyond friendly, not just with her ex, but also with Tiger Woods' new galpal, Lindsey Vonn.
Despite Woods' faults, Nordegren insists she and Woods are actually on good terms. "Our relationship is centered around our children [Sam Alexis, 6, and Charlie, 5], and we are doing really good -- we really are. He is a great father." Nordegren even likes Woods' new girlfriend, Olympic skier Lindsay Vonn. "I'm happy for Tiger … In general, in any kind of stepparent relationship, I'm happy that there's somebody else loving my children."
