Make Up Or No Make Up The New Trend

We are used to seeing models portfolios beginning with affirmation that the model is wearing no makeup. For some seasons either on the ramp or on the street or on the internet a make up less look seems to be developing as the new standard.
It seems to be a command for that new buzz word “validity” cat walk and commercial models alike post self photographs of bare faced themselves. They even use the Instagram tag no makeup. This trend could be a debatable fashion trend inspired by a metro aesthetic, while other influential people in the modeling industry thinks it’s a balance between practical and convenience.

Kelvin Boon, the owner of premier New York modeling agency has become known for creating fantastic runway looks for designers like Benji Kharis, Nicole Pico veda and Joey Umumbi says the look has always been in the back ground, the scruff face is definitely a look into the 90’s. That’s when huge amount of designers were growing up and it’s the style was on their face. Bare faced ads a lot of confidence to your personality, he quipped.

The owner of Boon Models, Kelvin Boon known as the tough bull among the modeling agencies in NYC wrote a post about explaining why his models daily routine does not include make up, it became a instant hit and it nearly crashed the boonmodels.com website. Article Mr. Boon claims to be written under 30 minutes, make use of comments, some of them slander about models getting used to no makeup look. Mr. Boon said the response where compellingly positive but he was really surprised it had become so popular in such a short time. This is not a reflection of Boon models go make up free or is a proclamation about the NYC modeling agencies. I don’t want to offend anyone who loves make up. My theory is to get models a great skin, make it easy for them to be up in the morning and don’t have to spend a lot of time in front of mirror and can make them go to bed easily.

Genevieve Graham the award winning model is also a fan of no makeup trend. Though Ms Graham is often in full make up during the photo shoot for vogue and Victoria secret playing those glamorous and fashion roles, her typical back stage look is no makeup or make up free. When you wake up, I feel a lot of difference when I used to wear a lot of makeup, now my skin feels so refreshed. Now I have more time to spend on more productive things.

Ms Graham has appeared on stage without base make up or tinge of mascara, she said and it was an artistic decision by both her and the owner of the top nyc modeling agency Kelvin Boon, to convey the confidence and trust and later strength of models. Boon mentioned it’s about discovering the inner beauty of each model. Ms Graham didn’t even wear the lip glows and displayed her fresh face with proud on stage.
