Controversy has been brewing ever since Olympic bronze medal winner Julia Mancuso stripped down to nothing but her “lucky underwear” in the February issue of GQ Magazine. A slew of female Olympians from around the world followed in her wake, showing off toned tummies, arms, and legs via social media. Russian Olympic officials have defended their stripped-down athletes, saying the women are defying stereotypes of the masculine, muscled athletes many assume them to be, but we don't know if we're buying it.
