Sure, you've seen your share of proposal videos. It seems no one is getting engaged these days without a camera man, background music or a crew of extras dancing boy-band style.
But they go viral for a good reason — these videos are mini love stories. They're grand gestures of love that capture one of the most important moments in a relationship, ones that brides- and grooms-to-be (along with strangers around the world) can re-live over and over.
In search of the ultimate proposal video, dating site JDate launched a contest for couples who found love on the site. After public voting on JDate's Facebook page narrowed down contenders to three finalists, Eric LaBarre and Nina Sturtz were awarded the title of "JDate's Top Proposal", along with a seven-night vacation in the Bahamas, by a panel of JDate experts.
"I found myself smiling and humming the whole way through, especially when she said, "Yes!" said judge Julie Spira, YourTango expert and founder of CyberDatingExpert.com.
Watch as Eric sings (and dances) his heart out before asking Nina's hand in marriage. In the theatrical "I Do Love You," Eric charmingly tells the story of their relationship.
Turn up the volume, grab your hanky, and follow along as Eric takes you to the couple's first date spot, Nina's parents' home — and you'll even be introduced to Nina's ex-boyfriend!
