More from YourTango: See Jenny McCarthy's Dazzling Engagement Ring
It's been almost seven years (yes, seven! Can you believe it?) since these two were going hot and heavy. They met on the set of The Notebook and even though apparently they didn't get along during filming, they soon captured America's hearts. They were great looking and their careers were about to explode. They solidified their awesomeness when they won for Best Kiss at the MTV Movie Awards in 2005 and reenacted that amazing pouring rain jump kiss. After that, we just could not quit them.
They were so cool and so laid back with their dog walking dates and casual fashion. They looked like extremely attractive dirty college students. Though Ryan still considers Rachel one of the "great loves of his life", they eventually parted ways. Possibly because their romance was relentlessly followed by the paparazzi and covered in the press.
Rachel went on to date Josh Lucas and Michael Sheehan. Ryan has been seen on and off with Eva Mendes for the past two years. But they've both since broken up with their significant others, leaving them free to date each other once again.

And if you don't think movies are real, listen to this. Reports say Rachel spent time with Ryan, who is ... wait for it ... restoring an old house on the coast. That is the exact plot as The Notebook! I wouldn't be surprised if James Marsden showed up next!
