Throwback Thursday: Chris Kirkpatrick Gets Married This Weekend!

Love & Marriage: Chris Kirkpatrick Ties The Knot This Weekend

Everyone had a favorite member of 'NSYNC, but let's be real: Chris Kirkpatrick was probably the biggest underdog in the boy band. When they started, he had braces, bizarre dreds and usually stayed in the background to let the prettier ones (read: Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez and Lance Bass) shine.

But dammit, Chris Kirkpatrick was the cool one—and on the rare occasion that he got solos, like in "I Drive Myself Crazy," he proved he could sing his behind off. And as of this weekend, the cool one will be officially off the market.

Kirkpatrick is getting married to his love of the past three years Karly Skladany, 29, to kick off November. Skladany, a marketing rep who's worked with the Orlando Magic, is the daughter of famous Ohio State punter Tom Skladany.

The 42-year-old singer (we know, we feel old too) popped the question on a vacation in Capri, Italy last year. "We had a hotel room at the Isle of Capri, overlooking the Mediterranean," he said of his proposal. "It was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. And it hit me: I wanted to propose to Karly. So I ran to a jewelry store, found the perfect ring and bought it ... We were sitting on the balcony with a bottle of champagne and I put the ring in her glass. I know it sounds cheesy, but it was romantic. As soon as I asked her, she said, 'It's about time!' And we laughed. It was spur of the moment, but it was absolutely perfect."

What else has Kirkpatrick been up to besides cuddling with Karly? He's been busy doing voice acting, notably for Chip Skylark on Nickelodeon's The Fairly Oddparents. But don't think he's forgotten about music. In addition to producing and writing tracks for other artists with his team and his company, Working Class Industry, he famously appeared with his bandmates to pay tribute to Justin Timberlake at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. And yes, Kirkpatrick tells Rolling Stone that all of his bandmates will be present at his wedding.

Prior to that (amazing but entirely too brief) reunion, Kirkpatrick appeared on VH1's Mission Man Band in 2007, in which he was paired with other former boy banders in hopes of creating a super group. (Considering we had to Google that show, you can guess how well it turned out.) In 2008, Kirkpatrick was back on reality TV when he joined the cast of CMT's Gone Country, where he impressed Big & Rich's John Rich with his songwriting and musical prowess. When he's not doing all that, he's rocking out with his band, Nigels 11—named after one of the most iconic scenes in one of the best movies ever made, This Is Spinal Tap.
