When Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus announced their split, it took the world by surprise—not that they broke up (they'd been having issues for what seems like forever), but that they actually confirmed it. And it's a good thing they did, because Hemsworth was photographed kissing Eiza González a blink after the no wedding news broke.
The pair just met at a party in Las Vegas and apparently really hit it off. They were photographed clubbing together after Hemsworth enjoyed the Mayweather-Alvarez match—and only one day(!) after Hemsworth and Cyrus' reps admitted the engagement was off, he was spotted at the Mexican singer-actress' apartment complex kissing her goodbye. Ow ow!
It seems like Hemsworth is enjoying getting to know González. Now you can get to know her, too:
1. Eiza González's father died in a car crash when she was 12 years old.
She says that his death is a major influence in her life and career. She was raised by her mom, former model Glenda Reyna, who now serves as her manager.
2. She was diagnosed with ADD as a child.
González endured treatment throughout her childhood to keep her attention deficit disorder in check. We bet Liam Hemsworth's eyes and abs can keep her focused for a while, though!
3. She could have been Mexico's Blake Lively.
González was offered the role of Sofia Lopez-Haro in Gossip Girl: Acapulco. That role was the equivalent of Serena Van Der Woodsen! But she turned it down to focus on the telenovela, Amores Verdaderos.
4. You may recognize her voice if you dig cartoons.
González speaks fluent English, Spanish and Italian. You can hear her in dubbed Spanish language versions of The Croods, in which she voiced Eep, and Jessica in Horton Hears a Who.
5. Eiza González can sing.
Like Miley Cyrus, González is multi-talented. Not only is she a television star in Mexico, but she's also a singer, releasing two albums, Contracorriente (which translates to "Countercurrent") in 2010 and Te Acordaras De Mi ("You'll Remember Me") in spring of 2012. She's gunning for a re-release of Te Acordaras De Mi for sometime in 2013 ... and she's got plenty of press to promote it right now!
