Who would not think of Bali when you talked about the movie "Eat, Pray and Love" of Julia Roberts? and perhaps any single woman who watched this movie may have thought of coming here, and also to find the right man (just like in the movie).
Well, if single, yes (undoubtedly) but as married, working adult and want to have some relaxation, I amazingly found myself staying to "Viceroy Bali". From Singapore, I flew directly to Bali. Singapore to Bali is just 2.5 hours travel time and no time difference.
After 1 hour and 30 mins. approximately drive from the airport, I arrived in Viceroy Bali. Viceroy is located in the heart of Ubud, where the place is so tranquil, peaceful and beautiful. Viceroy Bali http://www.viceroybali.com/en/introduction.php, is a 5-star luxury hotel or a villa resort in Ubud that offers 25 luxury pool villas with most magnificent view of river and forest.
Viceroy Bali has a grand entrance; Helipad is the first thing that you will see once entering their hotel. The staff are so warm and welcoming. They gave me garland, welcome drinks and cool towel on my arrival.
I stayed on the “Deluxe Terrace Villa” (the newest villa) and the room is so beautiful and fabulous, have super size king bed, huge bath tub, hot & cold shower, day bed, 42” inch LCD TV, iPod/iPhone docking station, and “inside pool” which has the most spectacular view of the forest and river.
On the second day of my stay, I woke up at 6am to see the beauty of infinity pool and at that time, "nostalgia" hit me when I saw how beautiful and amazing the view it was. The breakfast is amazing! A-la cart style (buffet) meaning, whatever your choices in the menu you can order and they will amazingly cook for you, which I find very sophisticated to serve for a guest.
In the afternoon, I went to their SPA (Lembah Spa), had 1 hour full body Balinese massage, body scrub, floralbathe, Jacuzzi and steam sauna, that gave me 2.5 hours of full relaxation (mind & body). Lembah Spa offers spectacular views of the Petanu River Valley to complement the therapeutic body treatments offered at this fastidiously managed day spa. All body treatments were developed by a certified Swiss therapist to combine Western knowledge with traditional Balinese wellness techniques. In addition to to a variety of massage and body treatments Lembah Spa offers facials, cereme hair”baths” manicure, padicure and reflexiology. Guest are also provided complimentary use of the steam room and the sixty-eight jet therapeutic American Jacuzzi. The Lembah Spa emphasizes health and meditation together with relaxation and beauty.
At night, I had a six-course romantic candle light dinner at CasCades Restaurant, which has the best selection of food (credit to the F&B Manager, Stephane for choosing the finest menu). CasCades Restaurant is acclaimed as one of the island's top dining venues, having been named as one of Indonesia’s top five restaurants by The Miele Guide 2011/2012 and Indonesia's Best Restaurant from 2007 to 2010 by American Express and Indonesia Tatler. The restaurant also received an Award of Excellence in 2007/2008 by Wine Spectator for it’s extensive wine list comprised of over 160 quality wines from around the world. Chef Jeremie Ducrot brings to the resort a significant breadth and depth of culinary experience. Since his arrival in mid 2012, CasCades Restaurant has added several authentic French dishes to the menu that are generating many accolades.
