Our favorite female besties are a great example of what it means to be a true friend to your fellow woman—well, most of the time. (Remember when Miranda told Big that he and Carrie were crazy to get married, and then Carrie was stood up, Miranda eventually confessed, and they didn't talk for months? Yeah, that was pretty awful.)
Overall, though, these fashionably fierce women supported each other, practiced honesty, and were always just a phone call away. That said, they did fail quite often when it came to dating. Sure, their experiences are super relatable, but they're just as eff-ed up as the rest of us.
Here, we're reflecting back on the messed up dating and relationship advice SATC told us and calling them out on their bulls--t.
Lie: It sucks to be single.
Lie: A Post-It note is the equivalent of a get-out-of-jail-free card.
Lie: Overanalyzing will get you answers.
Lie: You may not be able to change a man ... but you should at least try.
Lie: You should lie about your hobbies in order to be more interesting to a guy.
Lie: It takes precisely half the length of the relationship to move on after a breakup.
Lie: Aging will be easy and as fabulous as Samantha Jones herself.
Lie: Neuroticism can be sexy.
Lie: You can run through NYC in $800 designer heels (chasing guys and cabs) and never get a blister. Oh, and never have to workout ever!
Lie: Simply, sex can solve your problems.
Lie: Size is a deal-breaker.
Lie: You should always try to win in the Ex games.
Lie: Keep fighting for a relationship to work even when you already know in your heart that it's doomed. Cough, Aidan, cough.
Lie: Men love dramatic women.
Lie: Finding true love is all that matters.
