The Author Of 'He's Just Not That Into You' Saves Your Sex Life
Exclusive! Want your man to commit? Then be "too awesome to lose," advises Greg Behrendt.

You may know Greg Behrendt as that guy from that thing. Or from his writing on Sex And The City, or a lot of you may know Greg Behrendt as the author of He's Just Not That Into You and It's Called A Breakup Because It's Broken.

Well, he's back with a new eBook that he co-authored with his charming, brilliant and gorgeous wife Amiira Ruotola—and it's not about douchebags who dumped you or who won't call you back. It's called It's Just A F---ing Date, and it's about good guys who actually want to date you and how you can make that happen without screwing it up, smothering them, or scaring them off with your dealbreakers—some of which, as you'll learn momentarily, can be pretty horrifying on a first date.

We got to chat with Greg about dating, love and why things are different now than when our parents were courting one another. He was predictably blunt, and yes, hilarious. Get his advice now, because we can guarantee it'll help keep you sane (and probably get you laid, which is nice too). Craving more? We don't blame you—snag his eBook here!

YourTango: What's the best love advice you ever heard?
Greg Behrendt: The serenity prayer.

YourTango: Do you believe in love at first sight?
Greg Behrendt: No, I believe in love in hindsight, meaning attraction and connection can be remembered as love at first sight. But how could you possibly know at first sight? That's too much pressure to put on a relationship.

YourTango: What's the best way a girl can get a guy to step up and commit?
Greg Behrendt: By being too awesome to lose.

YourTango: What's the issue with guys and commitment reluctance these days?
Greg Behrendt: I have no idea.

YourTango: It feels like women in previous generations didn't have this problem.
Greg Behrendt: Every generation has its hurdles. But we keep making babies.

YourTango: What's the worst dating experience you've ever had?
Greg Behrendt: I had to carry a drunk girl home.

YourTango: What's the biggest misconception women have about men?
Greg Behrendt: That they are assholes for not liking you back.

YourTango: We've had long, amazing first dates with guys who never called us back. What's the deal with that?
Greg Behrendt: They weren't as amazing as you thought.

YourTango: What kinds of questions should women be asking men on first dates?
Greg Behrendt: Whatever questions you feel like asking.

YourTango: What kinds of questions are men most receptive to?
Greg Behrendt: Who cares? Be yourself. If something you do doesn't work, don't do it the next time. Listen to yourself--you know what appropriate behavior is.

YourTango: Be blunt with us. Name something women just get wrong when it comes to sex and dating.
Greg Behrendt: You only get the beginning of a relationship once. Make it last.

YourTango: You talk about the difference between standards and dealbreakers. What's the most bizarre dealbreaker you've ever heard?
Greg Behrendt: "He has to let me do him with a strap on."
