Kate and Will give us an adorable peek at their "little rascal."
It's been just four weeks since Prince George greeted his royal mum and dad, and 27 days since the world got to see him for the first time. Since then we've been waiting (maybe not so) patiently for the first official photos of the royal family. And now that they're here we might just die over the cuteness!
While the loving couple spent their first night outside the hospital with Prince George in the newly renovated Kensington Palace, they whisked their son off to Bucklebury Manor to spend his first weeks away from a royal residence. They opted instead to stay with the in-laws. In much the same way they casually introduced their son to the world just two days after he was born, their first official family photos are perfectly informal.
The young royals broke from tradition and chose to have Kate's father, Michael Middleton, shoot the pictures at the family home. Kate simply glows in the photos, don't you think? In a fuschia dress and her to-die-for signature blow-out, she's pictured alongside an equally dressed-down Will wearing a gingham button-down shirt with rolled sleeves and jeans, and of course the little prince—who Will recently called "a little rascal" in a CNN interview—swaddled and asleep in a blanket.
And just like our family photos wouldn't be complete without our pups, neither were theirs! In a second snapshot Kate and her two princes were joined by Lupo, Will and Kate's cocker spaniel, and the Middleton's retriever, Tilly.
We just can't get over how relaxed and happy the new family looks in their first official photos! Obviously having a family member take them in the privacy of their home-away-from-home brings a sense of intimacy to the photos that's usually lacking from royal portraits. If the backdrop and their attire are any sign, these two are ushering in a new, even more informal approach to royal life than ever before. But we bet with Georgie's upcoming christening, more formal portraits aren't too far behind.
