Thank you, Hollywood, for your recent baby boom and the plethora of hot fathers you've brought into our lives.
Just last year, 98 Degrees frontman Nick Lachey’s world changed when wife Vanessa gave birth to son Camden. Since then, he's revealed his favorite aspect of being a new father. "When they start to recognize you and get excited when you enter the room," Nick confessed. "I go get him every morning and that expression when he looks up from his crib and has a big smile … He and I have breakfast together, then get the paper. It's father-son time, which is really special."
Are you swooning yet, ladies? We're sure the baby mamas will agree—all 10 of these hunks gained sexy points when they became dads. Hallelujah!
Thank you, Chan, for fixing that Flock of Seagulls hair! What a difference a few years—and fatherhood—makes. Within the first month of her life, little Everly Tatum has daddy Channing wrapped around her little finger—and he wouldn’t have it any other way. "I've never been so excited when something poos," Chan spilled recently. "I just get so amped up because I'm in the game now … The mom does so much of the early work, those first few weeks and I'm just like, 'Put me in the game. Put me in the game.' I've gotten so good at like changing diapers, swaddling, and then get her back before she cries."
Since become a father to four daughters with wife Luciana (including a daughter from a previous relationship), Matt Damon has matured both personally and professionally. Just look how sharp he looks in those glasses! We love how happy Matty looks all the time since adding Dad to his resume. "The only way I can describe it—it sounds stupid, but—at the end of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, you know how his heart grows like five times? Everyhing is full; It's just full all the time," he revealed. Say it with us: "Awwwww!"
It's not just fatherhood that's changed Ben's outlook on life—it's having a whole family that makes every high point that much better. "They're the most important in my life," says the father to Violet, Seraphina and Samuel. "Family is a wonderful thing, but it doesn't mean you can't do other stuff in your life. In fact, having a family makes whatever other thing you have that much richer. If it was just me, I'd be home alone and think, 'Well, something good happened at work,' but it's much nicer to share it with people you love." Ain't that the truth.
Tom Brady's drive into the fatherhood zone has included a few surprising challenges to tackle—including getting rid of that Bieber haircut! Just as he began dating wife Gisele, his ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan discovered she was preggers with his child. Naturally, the tabloids had a field day with this news. "You're talking about a life," Brady has said about the situation. "It's what happens. And that's forced me to grow up in a lot of ways, and in a lot of ways I've learned about the people around me, learned about my wife and about how important she is in my life, through this. You see what she's really about. Because that's not what she wanted either. But once again, it's … I just don't think … life is not what everyone … Life is not living in the suburbs with a white picket fence. That's not life. Somehow our American culture has made it out that that's what life needs to be—and that if it's not that, it's all screwed up. It's not. You go through life and you try the best you can." Spoken like a father who knows best!
After years of living the wild life, Vince Vaughn turned it around and found new meaning in this role of a lifetime. "It gives you a different purpose," he said, soon after daughter Lochlyn was born. "I'll tell you, when Kyla and I had the first pediatrician appointment, we gotta get the car seat and put it in the back of the car. Kyla buckled up and I got in the car. And I was like, 'We're a family.' We're going to an appointment as a family. It's just a great feeling." How cute is that?
Though he's one of the hottest dads around, who would have thought Orlando Bloom would actually hate the word "Dad"? "It's awesome, I love it. I hate that word, but I love being a father; it's changed everything in so many ways." He says he's found a great teammate in his wife, Miranda Kerr, but he also admitted he thinks men have a harder time adjusting to their new role than women. "It's mad because as a woman you carry the baby for nine months so you're very conscious that you have a little one inside you. But for a guy, it's suddenly, there's a baby there."
Matthew McConaughey has embraced fatherhood, and it radiates from him. (Thankfully, it also looks like he's stopped the fake-and-bake, too!) Apparently, Matthew and wife Camila's first son Levi is Matt's mini-me. "He wants to be where the action is," the father said, soon after Levi's birth in 2008. "He gets the joke when he pees on me. He laughs his butt off!" The actor loves every second of it. "It's a wild, wonderful adventure … It's a great new chapter in life, for sure."
Though he became a father later in life, Brad Pitt has cherished his time with his brood of six with Angelina Jolie. And the challenges agree with him—he looks happier than ever! "There's constant chatter in our house, whether it's giggling or screaming or crying or banging," Pitt said. "I love it. I love it. I love it. I hate it when they're gone." So, like, can we be adopted as a Jolie-Pitt kid too?
As Hugh knows, it takes more than just biology and DNA to be a great father. The triple-threat and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness decided to adopt after finding out having biological children wasn't possible. "It was painful. It's not easy. You put a lot of time and effort into it, so it's emotional," Jackman said. "I think any parent can relate—trying to have children is wonderful and when you feel as though that's not going to happen, there's a certain anxiety that goes with it." But when that door closed, they began to knock on others. "From the moment we started the adoption process, all the anxiety went away. I don't think of [our children] as adopted—they're our children. Deb and I are believers in, I suppose you could call it destiny. We feel things happened the way they are meant to."
Since becoming a father, our crush on this Hemsworth brother has only grown stronger. Don't you see that extra sparkle in those baby blues? Since daughter India Rose's birth just a little more than a year ago, Chris has embraced the adventure of fatherhood—especially the positive impact it's had on his life. "It puts things into perspective," he said, of how fatherhood has changed him. "Just her being here … It's certainly taken all my focus and attention away from work—or what have you—but that's the main thing on my brain right now. It's wonderful."
