Is it just me, or were you completely moved to tears when the Supreme Court announced its ruling yesterday? Kristen Bell, I see you nodding.
The mother of newborn daughter Lincoln with fiancé Dax Shepard took to the Twitter feed with an expected yet still surprising question. "@daxshepard1 will you marry me? Xo #marriageequality #loveislove."
While the celebrity couple's proposal didn't bring me to tears (not sure if I could honestly find a proposal made in less than 140 characters truly romantic being a writer and all), it was endearing as previously Bell went on record with The Advocate stating why she's been holding off walking down the aisle with her fiancé of four years:
"The reason we're not rushing to get married is because I don't feel appropriate taking advantage of a right that is denied to my [gay and lesbian] friends," said Bell.
Ok, that part made me heart swoon … just a little. (Celebuzz)
I guess someone had to hold the torch since Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie decided to tie the knot after originally saying back in 2006 that they wouldn't wed until "everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able." Yeah, don't think I forgot that, Brangelina!
And while I'm not directly affected by the decision on the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), seeing close friends rejoice in the monumental moment really put me in the #loveislove swell of emotion. Someone hold my hand while these two rejoice and I try to navigate through the rest of Hollywood's attempts at love this week.
