Everyone headed to Atlantic City this week—and in what has to be one of the best group dates in Bachelor history, the guys competed in a Mr. America pageant for Des' love, complete with interview questions, a talent contest, and yes, a swimsuit competition. Thank you for that, producers.
Bryden got a little creepy thrusting his crotch in Des—and the Mayor of Atlantic City's—directions, Zak played the 'I can sing and play guitar' card, and Mikey made a big point during his interview that he's more than a meathead, yet decided to make his pecs dance during the swimsuit competition. Interesting.
In a very heartfelt one-on-one, Des took James on a helicopter tour over the Jersey Shore and saw the devastation left by Hurricane Sandy, and then they met a couple, Manny and Jan whose house was destroyed by the storm. Des was moved (as was America) by their story, and asked James if they could give their date to Manny and Jan instead. The couple enjoyed a limo ride and luxurious dinner date, while Des and James grabbed some grub at a diner. Later, both couples danced to a private concert by Darius Rucker.
Before the rose ceremony, Bryden starts to get the crazy eyes, and tells the guys if Des can't assure him of her feelings, he's going to hit the road. During some one-on-one time, Des sweetly hushes his concerns, but the crazy is still following Bryden like a haze. When his name is called for a rose, there is some hesitation, but he does accept, leaving Zack K. roseless.
***************Alert! 3 Major Season Spoilers!***************
Next week, Bryden goes home early in the episode, and according to Reality Steve, it's because he had a girlfriend at home the entire time. Apparently, Desiree and the producers never found out, though. Yikes.
In the end, it's Chris, Brooks, Zak and Drew that make it to the hometown dates, with Chris and Brooks making it to the final two.
Word on the blog-o-sphere street is that Desiree is now happily engaged to Brooks. But we'll have to watch to find out for sure! VIEW THE GALLERY: 'THE BACHELORETTE' SEASON 9
