It's Confirmed: Kate Middleton & Prince William Are Expecting!

Kate Middleton

Yes, it's for real this time! The palace confirmed in a statement today that Prince William and his wife Catherine Middleton are expecting their first baby!

The full statement reads: "Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news. The Duchess was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum. As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter."

The couple, who tied the knot in April 2011, have been in the news daily about a possible baby on the way. This time, it is confirmed and we couldn't be happier for the couple. The baby will most likely be welcomed into the home they are planning to move into— a 20-room Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace, which was last occupied by Queen Elizabeth's late sister Princess Margaret.

Congrats to the family!
