We've always known Jodie Foster is a multi-talented woman, and now she'll finally be recognized. The actress and director will receive the 2013 Cecil B. DeMille Award for a lifetime of achievement at this year's Golden Globes Awards. Back in 2007, Foster 'outed' herself when she gave an emotional speech about then-partner Cydney Bernard, saying,"[she] sticks with me through all the rotten and the bliss." We weren't shocked by this, and we were happy she had a partner that strengthened her peace in life.

Foster is intensely private so beyond her statement in 2007 there has never been a confirmation of her romantic experience. The 49-year-old has been a long-time powerhouse in Hollywood. Never the one for paparazzi spotlights, Foster has kept the drama on screen and she has wowed her fans for decades. A staple in Hollywood from age three, the star earned her first Oscar nomination for 1976's Taxi Driver. Her impressive resume includes two Oscars for lead actress in 1988's The Accused and 1991's Silence of the Lambs.

Morgan Freeman, Martin Scorsese and Judy Garland are all previous winners of this notable lifetime achievement award given annually to "talented individuals who have made an incredible impact on the world of entertainment."

She'll always be an important part of what movies mean to us. The President of HFPA Aida Takla-O'Reilly said "Jodie is a multi-talented woman that has achieved immeasurable amounts of success and will continue to do so in her career." No one can argue against that! She's certainly an unspoken beacon of hope for the gay community for being the first 'out' actress to receive this award.

She recently completed the film Elysium with Matt Damon which we are looking forward to seeing! Don't miss Foster receive the award on January 13!
