Miley Cyrus on engagement ring
The 19-year-old actress tells Marie Claire she had no input on the sparkler from Liam Hemsworth.

Miley Cyrus is usually in control of her relationships, but this time, Liam Hemsworth went ahead and picked out her engagement ring without her even knowing!

"I saw it online at one point and thought it was pretty," 19-year-old Miley Cyrus says in the September issue of Marie Claire, according to People. "I had no input. I just love that it's old and has a story. And I'm happy because it doesn't look like anything else I wear." Cryus said.

The young couple first announced their engagement back in June, and soon we got a flash of Miley's 18-karat Neil Lane hand-cut diamond ring dating back to the 1800s. Yes, we would agree that that's old -- and, like most great things in life, diamonds definitely get better with age. How Do Miley Cyrus' Parents Feel About Her Engagement?

So, are these two going to be running to the altar soon?

"We want to have a long engagement," Miley tells the magazine about her plans with her 22-year-old Aussie fiance. So then, why the engagement? "Life is too short not to be with the person you want to be with. I don't really care about the wedding or the peice of paper as much as I do the promise we've made to each other!"

Miley goes on to say that honesty and trust are what hold the two together despite their individual celebrity status. "Liam and I have a really good relationship," she says. "Neither of us is super jealous. We know each other and would never do anything to hurt each other."

So, do you think these two will last, or are they headed down the same road as Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson?
