There's a lot to like about First Lady. She's stylish, strong, and extremely humble, which is exactly what pop star Beyonce sees in Michelle Obama—and she isn't shy about telling the world! According to People, Beyonce wrote a letter of thanks to Mrs. Obama in April and posted it online. Now, the talented singer has come out with a recorded video of her words, in which she identifies Michelle as "the ultimate example of a truly strong African American woman."
In the video, Beyonce shares her feelings about Michelle with the world, saying that Michelle is a "...caring mother, she's a loving wife, while at the same time, she is the First Lady. No matter the pressure, and the stress of being under the microscope, she's humble, loving, and sincere."
Beyonce also shared with Michelle how much of an impact she has had not only on her life, but the life of her newborn daughter, Ivy Blue: "Michelle, thank you so much for every single thing that you do for us. I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you to look up to," she said. Beyonce & Jay-Z Introduce Baby Blue Ivy Carter With Photos!
The First Lady is quite fond of Beyonce as well, and responded on Twitter to Ms. Knowles' letter: "Thank you for the beautiful letter and for being a role model who kids everywhere can look up to."
Apparently, Mrs. Obama was talking about her kids as well, which is why she took her daughters Sasha, 11, and Malia, 14, to see Beyonce in concert a month after she recieved the pop star's letter. It was at this concert that she realized that if she could have any other gift and be any other person, she'd be Beyonce. "I'd be some great singer," she said.
In a world where celebrities are constantly knocking each other down or starting silly rumors that seem to spread like wildfire, it's heartwarming to see extremely kind words exchanged between two great role models and strong women.
Next, I think there needs to be a Beyonce and Michelle rendition of Single Ladies...who's with me?!
