President Obama stunned the nation yesterday by announcing that he supports gay marriage.
"I've just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married," the President told ABC anchor Robin Roberts in an interview that aired on Good Morning America Thursday morning.

This is the first time in history that a U.S. President has come out in support of the controversial topic.
