Dr. Bonnie calls the phenomenon Disney Dad. "Your ex-husband is trying to make up for the fact that he's not tucking the children in bed [at night]." In other words, to appease his own sense of guilt about the breakup, he's overcompensating with presents. But why? Dr. Bonnie says it's because while women communicate affection with words and physica displays like hugs and kisses, men aren't equipped to do the same.
