It's apparent things are getting serious between the couple, but just how serious?

Rumors are spreading like wildfire that Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth are taking their relationship to the next level.

According to People, 19-year-old Cyrus was sporting a beautiful ring on her left ring finger when the couple attended Muhammad Ali's Celebrity Fight Night XVVIII in Phoenix on March 24. Miley Cyrus & Boyfriend Liam Hemsworth Are "Deep"

The ring first caused a stir when the Hannah Montana Star shared a picture of it on Twitter. The post, intended to show off the actresses new favorite nail polish color, read: "I am sooo obsessed with @jennahipp nail foundations!"

Flaunting the ring "unintentionally" to stir up some controversy sure sounds like a stunt to us!

During the hype of the release of The Hunger Games movie staring Hemsworth, 22, the paparazzi could not get enough of the young couple, or the new sparkly addition. Could it be that Cyrus is surrounding her leading man with some extra publicity to help his rapidly growing acting career? Or, is this the real deal?

Neither, according to Cyrus. She posted today on Twitter: ""I'm not engaged. I've worn this same ring on this finger since November! People just wanna find something to (talk) about! It's a topaz people!"

But, our photo research shows that she was not wearing the ring when attending the Vanity Fair Oscar party in February nor the People's Choice Awards in January. Since November, huh Miley? Miley Cyrus Is Neurotic About Liam Hemsworth

The couple—who share a dog—have been on-and-off since they starred alongside each other in The Last Song in 2009. Cyrus shared with Seventeen Magazine back in 2009 of Hemsworth, "I've never gotten along with someone so well."

What do you think: Was Miley's ring a low publicity stunt?
