What is America Coming To?

I've lived in three different towns. In my second apartment in 2010, there was a young couple who lived in the apartment above mine. I believe it was fall around early September because it was still really hot outside. I overheard shouting outside my front windows, so I opened the curtain, only to see the couple upstairs having a shouting match. Typical man yelling at woman, woman trying to calm him down by saying everything was her fault. Frustrates me, I hate men like that. I stepped outside to see what was going on, I watched as he choked her in the car. I stood and started booking across the street. 'Hey get off her, hey get the F off her'. He didn't listen he kept doing it, I Came up behind him so fast, and yelled again. "Get the F off of her". The woman looks at me crying and saying "no its not like that". He turns to me and says "Mind Your Our F-ing Business". I said, "You are outside, So now it is my business!" They continued to fight for two more months before I moved out to another city. There I would find myself hearing that neighbors next door choking each other there and fighting. Every night about stupid things, he would beat her over lending out dvds to her friends. I felt bad because they had two childern who were being abused by there father also. I lived there for ten months, and moved again to the apartment I live in now. The people in this city are imbreads, they fight in the streets. I can't believe the way people talk to each other, of course we continue to always fight over the damn phone. I saw a couple fist fighting over their cell phone. The girls shirt was all ripped in the back, I'm like OMG. The more I moved the worse I see. I'm from up north, and we don't put up with men beating on women. As I recall I wish I never said anything to that guy who lived above me because I now know whats its like to be in an abusive relationship. I remember one time we were driving to see the doctor so they could confirm my pregnancy. I can't recall the argument, but I remember him boucing my head off the seat belt part of the car. I remember him saying he wanted me to stop causing a scene because people were starting to take notice. I know that woman got beat up for me saying something to him that day because its happened to me so many times. It's difficult for me now to leave because we have a child togther but I'm tempted. I'm just wondering when all the kaos is going to stop?? I want to know how we can stop this from happening, because most women don't think they can be helped like me. I'll leave in a body bag before I get out, I just know it. Is there anyway to stop this madness? A way to even let the abusers know they can too get help before they go too far?
