The FOX show coincidentally features the singer's biggest hit in tonight's episode.
The past few days have been excruciatingly hard on the millions of fans worldwide coping with Whitney Houston's passing on the eve of the 54th Grammy Awards, her favorite event. Music's biggest stars paid a special and beautiful tribute to the late Houston on Sunday night, and now we're learning that tonight's episode of Glee will also pay tribute to the singer. The creative producers found a way to have it work with the passing of a talented voice even though the episode was shot well before Houston's passing. E! Online heard from a rep at 20th century who said, "Purely coincidentally, the episode contains Mercedes (Amber Riley) singing 'I Will Always Love You,' the Dolly Parton song Houston made famous in The Bodyguard." (We loved that movie!)
The producers have thus decided to put a credit at the end dedicating the episode to Houston.
Glee star Amber Riley, who had just met Houston last Thursday, said, "I didn't need her to take a picture with me. I didn't need an autograph. The fact that she even acknowledged that I was standing there was enough for me." We've Lost A Legend: Remembering Whitney Houston
Tune into Glee tonight to see Riley's character Mercedes sing, "I Will Always Love You," as a way to figure out who her love interest is. We'll definitely be watching.
