Just what exactly did this ex-couple agree to in order to go their separate ways?
They probably couldn't imagine divorcing back then, but just a little over a year later, indeed they are signing on the dotted line of a divorce settlement. However, despite the mean-spirited reports we've heard since the two split in December (like how Brand is penning a tell-all about the 'Fireworks' singer), People is reporting that the "comprehensive written settlement of all issues" the duo filed this Tuesday in LA court is surprisingly amicable. 5 Reasons Russell Brand & Katy Perry's Divorce Was Inevitable
Perry, 27, is asking to have her name legally changed back to Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (AKA Kate Hudson, but not that Kate Hudson). She also wants the court to comply with how she and Brand have decided to split up their property, and she doesn't want it involved "in awarding spousal support to Brand," says People. 36-year-old Brand's papers echo his soon-to-be ex-wife's wishes and waive their rights to a divorce trial, as the terms of their split are "an uncontested matter." And, in what is most surprising from this settlement, the British comedian isn't asking for a penny from his millionaire wife who was too in love with him to sign a prenup! How truly gentlemanly of you, Russell! Allowing your ex to walk away from you with her gargantuan earnings intact. That's how the ending of a marriage should be – amicable, calm and with every detail written down on paper. Oh, and signed, sealed, delivered with a smiley face!
We're starting to find holes in that "tell-all" rumor, anyways.
