The star shuts down those pesky rumors and tries to justify her 72-day marriage.

The rumors about Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries' divorce have managed to last twice as long as their marriage! The famous reality television star is still dealing with the media fall-out of her marriage, and fighting the notion that the whole thing was a setup for a big pay day.

Kardashian, 31, scored a gig co-hosting LIVE! With Kelly on Monday, where the star tried her best to quiet the fiery rumors. According to Us Weekly, she told Ripa:

"Being a hopeless romantic, I wanted to believe in something so badly. If you really think about it, if this was a business decision and I really made all that money that everyone was claiming that we made off this wedding, and if the wedding was fake and just for TV—I'm a smart business woman—I would have stayed married longer." 

Kim also told said, "I really didn't think following my heart would create this much backlash."

In the end, Kim thought pulling the plug quickly was the answer to her relationship issues. "I definitely tried everything I could (to save it)," she told Ripa, "but also heard stories of people who had kids and stayed married for years and it didn't end up working out."

Is 72 days trying hard enough for a marriage?

Kardashian also revealed she leaned a lot on her mom Kris Jenner for help during her divorce. She told Ripa, "If my mom had four kids and she was able to get out of a situation that she felt like didn't fit her, I think anybody could...
