Simon Cowell Is "On A Break" From Fiancée Mezhgan Hussainy

Generally, there are only two possible endings for an engagement: a wedding or a breakup, but according to Simon Cowell, there is a third option:

"It's not on, it's not off, it's somewhere in the middle," he recently told the British Mirror about his relationship with fiancée, makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy.

Reportedly, the couple, who got engaged in February 2010 after meeting on the set of American Idol, have not seen each other since Christmas, but, instead of calling it a breakup, the X-Factor judge is just calling it a "break."

"It's quite a complicated relationship. We have had a break from each other, and we are still incredibly close," he added. "I'm vulnerable...I don't know if I will ever get married, but I am happy." Will Simon Cowell's Engagement Last?

The 52-year-old certainly looked like he was enjoying himself while he spent the holidays in Barbados, surrounded by beautiful women.

Meanwhile, Mezhgan has reportedly moved out of Simon's main home into another house that he owns nearby. Supposedly, it's the same house that his ex, Terri Seymour, moved into after their breakup in 2008. Still, it's interesting that Simon acknowledged that his relationship is pretty much over, while leaving the door open for a reunion. Did he do something that caused Mezhgan to break up with him and now he's waiting for forgiveness?

Or do you think their "break" could have been a mutual conclusion, and Simon just doesn't want to look like a cad for behaving like a swinging bachelor, just months after calling his 37-year-old fiancée "the one"?
