Last night at MTV's Video Music Awards in Los Angeles, Beyoncé Knowles stepped onto the red carpet in a long, orange-colored flow-y dress. She walked a few feet, then paused in front of the cameras. And then, she put one arm on either side of her stomach and pulled the dress's fabric against her body to reveal a rotund baby bump—a development that all her fans had been hoping for since she married Jay-Z back in 2008. After Beyoncé made her visual announcement, she headed inside the venue, and later on, busted out an incredible performance of her single "Love on Top", dancing in heels just as fiercely as she ever has before. At the end, Beyoncé stood on the stage amidst thunderous applause, threw down her mic, and unbuttoned the jacket she was wearing during her performance. She then turned to her side, and rubbed her belly. The crowd went wild, and the camera immediately cut to Jay-Z, who was excitedly beaming and clapping while looking on. Kanye West then jumped on him in a congratulatory way, playfully pushing him and smiling as well. A couple of times, it seemed like Jay-Z wanted to run right up on stage and hug his Mrs.—it looked as if his body kept wanting to run on stage to be with her, but then his brain told him to let her have her moment and he saluted her from the audience. Both Beyoncé and Jay-Z seem wildly ecstatic about this news, and their excitement is so adorably cute! MTV reported that backstage after the announcement, Beyoncé said, "I'm free!"
The pop diva is about three months along, according to a source for US Weekly. The source also adds, "She wasn't going to announce it but she is so excited she couldn't hold it in."
Beyoncé is a normally very private person, as is husband Jay-Z. In fact, they kept their marriage a secret for some time after they wed, so if Beyoncé is revealing her baby news to the public earlier than she expected to at first, she must be very, very excited.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z met while recording a song together back in 2002. They courted for some time after that, keeping mum about the status of their relationship to the media, which Beyoncé claims has helped their relationship.
And after they got married, Beyoncé and Jay-Z became one of the most fiscally successful couples around. Last year it was reported that they earned a combined total of $122 million. So that baby in Beyoncé's oven can expect some lavish goods while growing up in the lap of luxury. And whatever the gender, we have no doubts that the kid will be super talented (maybe he/she will even be able to fly!) Congrats to the happy couple!
