Shocking Breakup! Will And Jada Pinkett Smith Separate
By Faye Brennan. Posted on .
Update: The Smiths have spoken out since this story went viral on Tuesday that they are, indeed, still together and happily married. They released a statement saying, "Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false. We are still together, and our marriage is intact." According to Radar Online, they are now looking to seek legal action against the fabricated report.
Well, this is certainly coming out of left field! After recently having their "happy home" featured in Architectural Digest, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith have separated, according to In Touch Weekly (via Huffington Post).
The actors, who've been married for 13 years, have two children together, Jaden and Willow. When we interviewed Pinkett Smith in 2007, she told us how their marriage was only getting better after year nine.
"The most important aspect of our relationship is that we continue to grow together—you have to be willing to take journeys with your partner," she said. "And even our relationship has gone through bad times. But if you can survive them, you'll have an even deeper connection. What's more important, chemistry or friendship? You have to have both, without allowing one to get stronger than the other. It's all about keeping that balance." Jada Pinkett Smith on Love and Marriage
When we asked if they ever got mad at one another, Pinkett Smith said, "We learned very early in our relationship that we are two volatile people, and we could not argue like that. And now we've gotten past that point. We disagree, but we don't argue."
Throughout their marriage, the Smiths have also never shied away from talking about their exciting sex life. So this, combined with the idea that they "don't argue," just makes this announcement even more shocking.
Although, there have been numerous rumors that Will Smith, er, bats for the other team. Both have vehemently denied that claim, just as they haven't fully admitted to being Scientologists. But it's interesting to note that there have been claims that Scientology is just a way to "cure" homosexual actors. Something to think about... Jada Pinkett Smith Says She And Will Are Not Gay
But it's sad that these two are calling it quits, just when we all thought how perfect they were together!
