Kate Gosselin's Show Is Cancelled; Jon Is 'Relieved' For The Kids

Well, we knew Kate Gosselin could only last so long on her own (plus her eight, of course). Sure, her split from her former husband and co-star, Jon, was quite the draw to continue watching. But even with all those kids and the "fun" family set up they had going, the cutest stories can eventually become not so cute.

That's why TLC has decided to cancel the show.

"TLC has decided not to renew another season of Kate Plus 8," a rep shared with People in a statement. "By the end of this season, Kate Plus 8 will have hit the 150 episode mark (including Jon & Kate Plus 8); an exceptional milestone. What does Jon think, you ask? In an exclusive story with Radar Online, he says he's "very relieved" that the kids will be away from the cameras (funny, is that what he was thinking when he was on it?).

He also added that he hoped for more family time. "I hope that this will bring more privacy to my children and that they can get the proper attention they need for any personal issues they might have in the future."

Well, we have to say, we're impressed that the show ran for as long as it did, even after Jon and Kate's divorce back in 2009. It will likely go into syndication, which can only help Kate—those dollar bills won't be streaming in like they used to. Just look at Jon, who had to completely start over.

In any event, this may be a good thing. After all, it will give Kate the chance to spend more quality time with her extremely large family, which should've been her first priority all along!
