For better or worse, Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd both tied the knot this weekend.
Stayover trend pioneer Joy Behar is no longer championing the cause. She married her longtime love, Steve Janowitz, in a private ceremony in New York City on Friday—the same weekend as Sherri Shepherd, Behar’s co-host of The View, wed television writer, Lamar Sally, in Chicago.
Behar, 68, who also hosts The Joy Behar Show on HLN, dated Janowitz for a whopping 29 years before the two tied the knot. Why the long wait? For years, Behar insisted the unmarried life suited her best. She began to come around in 2009, explaining that she feared they would not enjoy the same rights as a married couple should one or the other become ill. The two were engaged briefly, but Behar later called off the wedding because of cold feet. This time, however, it seems her tootsies remained toasty. Reggie Bush Comes Crawling Back To Kim Kardashian
Meanwhile, Shepherd, 44, announced her engagement on-air last December, and was married on Saturday at Chicago's Fairmont Hotel. Unlike Behar's intimate affair, Shepherd spared no expense. Her celeb-studded bridal party included co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Community star Yvette Nicole Brown, actress/comedienne Kym Whitley, and former Clean House host Niecy Nash. Shepherd's son Jeffrey, along with ex-husband Jeff Tarplay, walked the blushing bride down the aisle. Baby News: Jessica Alba Gives Birth And Hilary Duff Is Pregnant!
A special about Shepherd’s big day will air on The Style Network on September 12. But don’t hold your breath for Behar's televised ceremony. A rep for The View issued a statement saying Behar will discuss her recent nuptials on September 6, when the morning talk show returns to ABC for its 15th season.
We're sure we'll get all the details (and way too much information) from both newlyweds during that episode!
