Did Blake Lively Use 'The Rules' Dating Manual To Hook Leo?

Unlike Serena van der Woodsen's complicated and scandalous love affairs on Gossip Girl, Blake Lively prefers to take the old-fashioned route when it comes to romance.
The Green Lantern star reportedly flipped through the pages of the 1995 dating manual The Rules for advice on how to win Leonardo Dicaprio over, according to The Daily Mail.

"Blake loves the dating book The Rules and has been following it to the letter," a source tells the Daily Mail. "She knew Leo could have any girl he wanted and she figured she had to stand out from the crowd." Blake Lively Is Desperate To Be Mrs. Leonardo DiCaprio
Written by Ellen Fein and Sherrie Schneider, The Rules reveals that playing hard-to-get is the ultimate way to land Mr. Right. And just like its 21st century counterpart, He's Just Not That Into You, the manual relays similar tips:
- "If you are in a long-distance relationship, he must visit you at least three times before you visit him."
- "Close the deal—Rules women do not date men for more than two years."
- "If he does not call, he is not that interested. Period."
Dealing the elusive card certainly worked for the 23-year-old actress. Bleo's (OK, definitely not as catchy as fellow CelebLove blogger Laura Palmer's 'Blanardo' moniker) infamous Cannes Film Festival canoodling came shortly after their respective breakups with Penn Badgley and Bar Refaeli—but not before Blake made sure his split was official.
