Kate's big hunch proved wrong; meanwhile, Posh n' Becks added a dash more estrogen to their family.
Kate Hudson thought for sure she was having a girl. Back in April she told the Today show that she had done a pendulum test to determine the sex of her soon-to-be baby. "You get a ring in your hair and put it over your belly and it swings,” Kate explained. ". . . it goes in a circle if it's a girl and it usually goes back and forth if it's a boy. It's saying it's a girl, and I'm carrying so differently than I did with Ryder." Is Kate Hudson Engaged To Her Baby-Daddy?!
Well, this Saturday proved that that pendulum test was a load of crap, when Kate, 32, and her baby Daddy (and fiancé) Matt Belamy gave birth to a boy. People is reporting that as of yet there is no word on the name of the little tyke, but Ryder (Kate's seven year-old son from previous marriage to Chris Robinson) must be super stoked to have a half-sibling to hang out with.
In other baby news, Victoria and David Beckham welcomed their new baby this weekend too! The couple gave birth to their first daughter, Harper Seven, at 7:55 am yesterday in Los Angeles. According to Us Weekly, a rep for the Beckham's said: the "happy and healthy" little girl weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz. "David and Victoria Beckham are delighted . . . and Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz are excited to welcome their new baby sister to the family."
Apparently Victoria spent the days leading up to the birth of their daughter resting, as the end of her pregnancy was beginning to take a toll on her energy. This left her husband to go stag to a reception on Friday, an event which honored Duchess Kate and Prince William, who were visiting L.A. David reportedly told the royals: "Victoria really wanted to come but she is just so tired at the moment. She sent you both lots of love." To which the prince replied: "Don't be silly. Please send her all our love and tell her good luck with it all." 4 Reasons Not To Envy Kate Middleton
Us Weekly also reports that the Beckhams asked their three boys for input on what to name their baby sister. "We've got a few in mind, but we've also said to the boys, 'Give us some ideas,'" David explained. "When we were [originally] told it was a boy, Romeo was like, 'How about Justin Bieber Beckham?' So now that we know it's a girl, he's like, 'What about Justine Bieber Beckham?'"
Even without the help of their children, the Beckhams are quite capable of thinking up unqiue names for their kids.
