Charlize Theron: 'Marriage Is Not Important To Me'

Charlize Theron
The Oscar-winning actress is more interested in finding lasting love than walking down an aisle.

Paging George Clooney! Beautiful, 35-year-old actress Charlize Theron has never been married, and that's just fine with her. In fact, married life has never been something she was interested in, she recently told Piers Morgan in an interview.

"I really want for myself a long-term relationship, and I have been in long-term relationships," she said. "That's the kind of union that I want. The actual ceremony is not something that is important to me, but I see the importance for other people."

Charlize spent nearly a decade dating Irish actor Stuart Townsend before the couple broke up in 2010 and has mostly recently been linked to Keanu Reeves, Prince Harry, and, inexplicably, a New York famer. Charlize Theron Is Dating A Farmer

Sadly, Charlize has denied both the Keanu and Prince Harry rumors, leaving us to believe that she really is living out a Green Acres type of romance with actor-turned-farmer Eric Thal.

Still, despite her personal anti-marriage stance, Charlize is an advocate of gay rights and says she realizes how important the institution is to people who've been denied the ability to legally marry:

"It's a divine right, and when government starts to tell us who can love and what is good love...I do have a problem with that...I do have a problem with the fact that our government hasn't stepped up enough to make this federal, to make [gay marriage] legal."
