Bachelor Brad's engagement with his chosen Southern belle has gone with the wind.
It appears that the final rose petals have dried up and fallen off for Brad Womack and Emily Maynard, who've finally come clean about their breakup after months of ambiguity and denial. In a Jake and Vienna-style move, the petite blond will speak publicly about their split on an upcoming episode of The Bachelorette in hopes that she and 6-year-old daughter Ricki "can move on and get back to normal."
Though many Bachelor devotees blamed Emily for the way things went down after the show, Brad has surprisingly taken full responsibility for the pair's downward spiral.
"The demise of our relationship was completely my fault," the Texan tells People.
Emily was more elusive in her explanation of the split, stating that "just because we're in love with each other doesn't mean we're right for each other."
That might be an understatement—after all, the writing was on the wall during the "After the Final Rose" episode, and frankly, we're surprised the reality lovebirds made it this long.
