Finding Guidance

Feel connected to those who support us from the other side, other realms or even alternate universes

Regardless of their personal belief systems (spiritual focus, formalized religion, or a combination thereof), people tend to like the comfort of feeling connected to those beings that support us from the other side, whether we believe "the other side" to be an alternate universe, a heavenly realm, etc. One reason people find this so comforting is that they like knowing that something greater than themselves is available for them from which they can seek or receive guidance and clarity. I maintain that our angels (or guides, if you prefer) constantly surround us, always at the ready to gently guide us toward happier and better lives if we are willing to ask for their help. We can communicate with these guides in any of several ways, including those listed below.

Oracle Cards
Most divination and many bookstores carry angel and divine guidance cards with the rest of their merchandise. Oracle cards typically have about 50 cards in a deck that are full of words of compassion and wisdom. To properly read and benefit from oracle cards, first calm yourself with an effective mind training exercise, then silently offer a prayer of gratitude to your angels before requesting their help. Shuffle the deck a few times because spreading the cards on a clean table and selecting one card.

Although on the surface drawing oracle cards can seem like an entirely random way to seek guidance from your angels, the reality of the situation is that the "magic" of this process lies in its randomness. Selecting a particular card over all the others in the deck enables your angels to direct you to choose the right one rather than leaving it up to a matter of coincidence or chance.

Seek Help and Wait
For people who find it difficult to keep faith, simply choosing to seek help and wait can be the best way to getting guidance. When you find you could use a little nudge of guidance, offer a silent prayer of gratitude to your angels requesting their help. Then pay close attention to what happens to you over the coming hours or days, as you will discover that guidance comes in many different ways. You may find the answer you were looking for in a television program you watch, a magazine article you read, or a conversation with a friend. You might be surprised by the number of ingenious ways your angels find to assist you, but in time you’ll learn to see what you once thought of as mere coincidences for what it really is: unbelievable miracles!

Writing Exercises
Because it takes greater levels of concentration, you should attempt this method of seeking advice only after you’ve reached the point at which you can control the rambling inside your mind within minutes and have confidence in your intuition.

To employ this technique in seeking guidance, write your question on a piece of paper. Next, calm your mind by engaging in a mind training exercise, offer a silent prayer of gratitude to your angels, and request that they help you. Then take a deep breath and record the first answer that comes to you. If you find yourself filled with a feeling of detached calmness and recognize no anxiety or fear in your response, then you can rest assured that your answer was provided by your angels.

Perhaps the greatest thing about communicating with your angels is that it encourages you to recognize how wonderful and fulfilling life can be. Divine guidance is positive in nature and will always encourage you to treat others with compassion and love yourself, just as it can aide you in selecting the best option when you’re facing a dilemma. And finally, you can take comfort in knowing that your guiding angels have your best interests at heart and will endeavor to keep you on a path of spiritual growth.

Until next time, embrace your inner wisdom.

Namaste,
Karen
