Crystal Harris: Hef Was 'Relieved' That I Called Off The Wedding

Don't cry for Hugh Hefner. Sure, he was jilted just days before he was supposed to get married to now ex-fiancée Crystal Harris, but, if you believe the blonde, 25-year-old's side of the story, Hugh was actually relieved when she decided to call the wedding off!

According to TMZ, Crystal called into Ryan Seacrest's radio show and claimed that Hef was never the marrying kind of man and supposedly only agreed to marry Crystal because he thought it was what she wanted. So, when Crystal decided a couple of days before the wedding that she'd rather be single than become "Mrs. Crystal Hefner," as the cover of the July issue of Playboy Magazine proclaims her to be, Hef was just fine with it, despite his sad series of Tweets that seem to indicate otherwise. (Note to the Playboy editors: You probably should have waited to make sure the wedding was going to go down before approving that cover!)

"This isn't the lifestyle for me. Multiple girls around all the time. The Playboy lifestyle. I just wanted to be true to myself," she told Ryan, adding that any rumors of a secret romance with Dr. Phil's son, Jordan McGraw, were "absolutely not true." "There was no fight," she further explained. "He understood, and we both agreed that it wasn't the best idea to get married. He was doing it for me because he thought it was what I wanted."

While we understand why Crystal might not want to marry a notorious womanizer who's 60 years her senior, we still have to ask: Why did she figure out all of this now, especially after having lived with Hef for so long? The Playboy founder may not have the best track record with women, but he certainly didn't deserve the embarrassment of being dumped right before his wedding! And it would have been far more civilized to have called off the wedding before the cake had been made and the $635 wedding shoes had been bought, don't you think?

Regardless, Hef's Tweets about the cancellation of the wedding seem sad but wise, as one might expect the thoughts of a twice-divorced 85-year-old to be. Crystal Harris Calls Off Her Wedding To Hugh Hefner

"The breakup is a heart breaker, but better now than after the marriage," he wrote on Twitter. "I told the guys about the breakup Monday night & they were very supportive. We watched the doc Say Goodbye to the President. Powerful," he wrote in another Tweet.

Hef's exes have also rallied around him. Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett, Holly Madison and Bridget Marquardt of The Girls Next Door all sent supportive Tweets, and his ex-wife, Kim Conrad, even stopped by to check on him, reports OK Magazine.

Despite going through a messy breakup, Hef doesn't seem to have lost his since of humor, if the following Tweet is any indication:
