The disgraced politician's wife, Huma Abedin, is in the early stages of pregnancy.
We know you thought the Weinergate saga couldn't possibly get more twisted. Oh, but it has.
Just after he admitted to inappropriate relationships with six women, accidently posting a lewd photo to his Twitter feed and taking leaked X-rated photos of himself, we find out Rep. Andrew Weiner's wife is pregnant. (Talk about gasps heard 'round the world.)
According to the New York Times, several sources "with knowledge of the situation" have confirmed Weiner's wife, Huma Abedin, is indeed in the early stages of pregnancy, carrying the couple's first child. The newlyweds tied the knot just last year. Weinergate: Yes, Weiner Sent Lewd Photo... No, He Won't Resign
Although the scandal has played out very publicly, Huma has remained mum on all things surrounding Weinergate. She has kept busy with her job as an aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (who has obviously, ironically, dealt with similar issues in the past), and is currently out of the country, taking off for Northern Africa earlier today... We're thinkin' the African adventure could not have come at a better time.
But, even still, Huma probably won't be able to escape the whispers for long. This pregnancy news is only going to add fuel to the Weinergate fire. Weinergate: 5 Ways To Avoid Being A "Weiner" In Your Relationship
At his press conference on Monday, Weiner said he was sorry for the pain his sexting scandal had caused his wife, but that he and Huma were still smitten and fully prepared to ride out the negative press.
"We will weather this," Weiner insisted. "I love her very much, and she loves me."
Ah! It's just too much. With revelations hittin' the fan left and right, could this only be the beginning of Weinergate?!
