Salma Hayek Loves Being A Housewife

Actress Salma Hayek loves taking care of her husband Francois-Henri Pinault and the couple's 3-year-old daughter, Valentina, and prides herself on being a top-notch housewife and chef. 

"I am a housewife. I cook every night for my husband. I am most definitely a housewife. And a good one, I must say," she said. Salma Hayek & François-Henri Pinault

While the 44-year-old actress sounds extremely content with her life now, she says initially she was anxious about moving to Paris to settle into a new life as a homemaker.

"The first thing I panicked about was moving. I got scared. I said, 'I'm not moving to Paris to be a housewife.' And he said, 'Fine, we'll be different'. It's sort of exciting to have a different kind of marriage," she said.  Salma Hayek Weds Baby Daddy

Hayek did eventually move to Paris, however, and now lives what sounds like a more or less average married life. Her husband is, after all, a French billionaire and she's a famous actress, so we're not sure how "average" that actually may be. Either way, it sounds like it works for them.

"Our life is great and glamorous in many ways, and in many ways — the good ways — it's very homey. He's a spoiled brat, my husband, when it comes to food," the actress explained. Tales Of A Reluctant, Happy Housewife

Glamour aside, Hayek also mentioned that she loves her life in Paris now despite her initial hesitations, and it seems like her husband knew all along that she would eventually come around.

"He knew I was going to end up here but he said the right thing. Before I knew it, I was spending most of my time here, and I love it," she added. Gwyneth Paltrow: Just A 1950s Housewife?
