The singer gave birth to a baby boy and girl on the couple's third wedding anniversary.
Saturday must have been a very joyous occasion in the Cannon-Carey household! Not only was it Mariah Carey, 41, and husband Nick Cannon's third wedding anniversary, but the singer gave birth to their first children, a twin baby boy and baby girl.
"My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life! I won't ever be able to top this!" Nick, 31, posted on his Twitter account.
"I'm in the happiest place I've ever been in my life. I never had more amazing things happening. I am humbled by God's favor," he added. Mariah Carey Confirms Pregnancy, Past Miscarriage
According to MTV, Nick drove Mariah in a Rolls-Royce Phantom (!) to the hospital, as she went into labor, but, "like an I Love Lucy episode," nervously went to the wrong department at first and had to be directed back to the maternity ward. At 9am, the singer gave birth to twins, weighing 5 pounds each. The babies' names have not been announced yet, although Nick joked last summer that they might follow George Foreman's lead and name all of their kids after Mimi!
"We're gonna name all of our kids Mariah no matter if they're boys or girls. ... Mariah No. 1, Boy Mariah, Man Mariah, Tall Mariah. It's gonna be a house full of people named Mariah," he told People Magazine.
With the two little "Mariahs" as their witnesses, the couple renewed their vows the following day at the hospital, officiated by none other than Rev. Al Sharpton.
Congratulations to the happy family!
