Four months after announcing their engagement, LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian tied the knot in a secret Friday ceremony. The couple pulled something of a Julia Roberts/Danny Moder move by inviting friends and family to a supposed engagement party at a private Malibu home, only to surprise their 40 guests by actually saying, "I do."
We'll be nice for now and wish them the best, but we really don't see this union lasting too long. But quietly getting hitched the weekend before the highly-anticipated royal wedding seems like an odd move for a couple who have been dead set on proving to the world how much in love they are, so perhaps LeAnn is maturing?
Then again, perhaps not. Celebitchy has some of the blushing bride's quotes and video clips from her Great American Country interview, in which she discusses her affair with Eddie and subsequent divorce from Dean Sheremet. LeAnn doesn't exactly come across as a woman filled with remorse; rather, she seems to want to blame everyone (from her parents to country music in general) for the way things went down and her rise to tabloid fodder fame. Shortly after a set-up about how she "lost" her parents because she became a star at such a young age, she says of her divorce, "I know I didn’t do it the right way. I didn’t have the tools to know how to do it the right way, how to let go the right way. I’d never been taught that." OH, PLEASE.
