Last Saturday Reese Witherspoon married agent Jim Toth at the bride's 6-acre ranch in Ojai, California. Considering Reese's celeb status and notorious delightful charm, there were a flock of Hollywood elites in attendance: guests of the bride and groom included Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves, Robert Downey Jr., Renee Zellweger, Alyssa Milano, and Tobey Maguire. Allegations and rumors have been swirling since the Oscars that these two were dating, but no one was sure if they were just casual, friendly outings, or whether the two were embarking on a much more serious relationship. Since the Academy Awards in January, Scarlett and Sean have been spotted out at dinner multiple times, and even had a day-scape to Mexico together. But neither of these things quite signal commitment or exclusivity like attending a wedding together. Their going to Resse's wedding together shows a deeper level of seriousness—they skillfully picked a day devoted to love and vows, which communicates that they both honor and respect commitment in a romantic relationship. "Scarlett is Jim's client, but no one, including the bride, knew she would have turned up with Sean Penn," a friend of Scarlett's told Popeater. "Turning up at a wedding with your boyfriend is definitely a huge statement, especially that wedding. What it's doing is announcing to the whole of Hollywood that they are serious."
People are speculating that their attendance at the wedding was their way of announcing their couple status to the rest of Hollywood. Scarlett, 26, is recently separated from husband Ryan Reynolds, and Sean, 50, has previously been married to Madonna and Robin Wright.

According to Popeater, there are reports that the couple is planning a spring trip to Haiti, where Sean has been actively involved in relief assistance following the earthquake in 2010.
