The golfer may have met his new flame when she was just seven years old.
Tiger Woods finally has a new flame—one he's known, quite possibly, for a very long time.
Since his split from ex-wife Elin last August, Tiger has (understandably) been laying pretty low on the dating front. But now, sources say the pro golfer is romancing the stepdaughter of Alastair Johnston, Alyse Lahti-Johnston. The two have reportedly been an item for a few weeks, and were recently spotted catching some sun on Tiger's yacht. Elin Forgives Tiger (And It's Sponsored By Nike)
Alyse's stepfather, Alastair, used to be the vice-chairman of sports-management firm IMG, the company who negotiated Tiger's $60 million endorsement deal with Nike in 1996. According to the New York Post, the philandering athlete may have known Alyse back in the day, at the tender age of seven. Now, she's all grown up: a 22-year-old blond attending grad school at Northwood University in Florida.
Like Tiger, Alyse's past isn't so squeaky-clean. Last October, she was arrested near her stepfather's massive estate after cops suspected she was behind the wheel while under the influence. She was eventually charged with reckless driving, and pleaded no contest in December. Although, after completing several drunk-driving programs, her charge was changed—reduced to just a small traffic infraction. 6 Things We Learn About Tiger Woods From His Sexts
Alyse and Tiger have something else in common, as well: a love of sports. Growing up, she was surrounded by the athletic happenings at her stepdad's firm, and was also a college volleyball star. While attending the University of New Hampshire, she helped lead the school's volleyball team to the American East Championship semifinals.
So, if the rumors or a romance are true, we know she'll at least be able to talk a little shop with her new man.
