If you're feeling frustrated with the dating scene at home, you may want to pack your bags and head to Athens.

The Greek capital was just named the World's Most Flirtatious City. How so? Turns out the metropolis topped the Badoo World Flirtation League poll, which ranked cities by the number of online flirtations initiated per month on the social networking site, reports Reuters. Moscow came in second place, while romantic Paris ranked 38th and New York was 89th in the study of nearly 200 international cities, in which Badoo analyzed 12 million flirtatious contacts made during a month. The average Badoo user in Athens initiated 25.7 online flirtations a month, which is over twice as many as in already-sexy Rio.

British academic and author of The Greeks, Eroticism and Ourselves, Simon Hardy, tells Reuters that Athenians "perfected the art of flirtation in ancient times, especially at the time of symposia described by Plato."
